Jika (2016)

Jika is a short film based on a South African dance: Pantsula which is explored through the body intelligence and dance experience of dancer Likhaya Jack who has mastered the it and has encrypted its essence uniquely into his body.
This film combines my passion for dance togethor with my passion for film. It is aimed at raising awareness of the rich dance culture in South Africa that in my view has  a rich history and movement style that is a force to be reckoned with.

Eina (2016)

Eina is a 24-minute adventure drama about young concerned television students who sets out to make a film about the effects of corporal punishment as he has experienced them first hand, He takes us on a journey with three other characters who have experienced a similar ordeal.
This film explores my passion for films which are socially and politically aware. Eina gave me an opportunity to explore an issue that has existed for long an through it we hope to stop the atrocities of corporal punishment.

Public Service Announcement:

Domestic Abuse (2016)

Five households, five forms of abuse, one social issue: domestic abuse. Five South Africans suffer the harsh consequences of domestic abuse in various forms, with one taking action to try and free herself from this tragedy.
This piece helped me explore the technicalities of lighting, framing and intention in a stylized, theatrical shoot such as this one.

Fragmented Scribbles (2021)

There is an embodied language that cannot be articulated in words nor whispered in the deepest, wildest thoughts. These are brief scribbles… "Fragmented Scribbles" captures moments of endless embodied conversations that occur in one’s body, mind and spirit. Captured in a kitchen, a space of creation firstly catalysed by the COVID-19 constraints, but now a stage for the showcasing of a constantly evolving embodied language.

"the artistry of movement is in
trajectories, transitions, and in the temporal and spatial confi gurations
in which moves, limbs, bodies, relate to one another . . . change to a
single component can affect the entire interacting network of elements.
In a dynamical system, time is not simply a dimension in which cognition
and behavior occur but time, or more correctly dynamical changes
in time, are the very basis of cognition. "

INTLONZI (2021)

What is the role of a man?

INTLONZI covers all the circumstances that are covered underneath our heads, the demonic thoughts that cause men to react like animals. Conflicts of mind and body. The mind is saying something so that the body can react, but the body refuses to listen. Stereotypes. Anger. Losing their dignity. Those are some of the reasons some men take bad decisions and think later. One of the reasons is that men don't think of the situation they might face.
